Our Goal of preventing Road accidents is not yet done... The next small step we have taken is to do some safety activities in our area, as far as our monetary limit permits.

We have come out of the campus to paint the road humps. The road in the area has lot of curves and junctions and hence safety humps were made to prevent over speed. But these humps are not visible from a speeding vehicle as they were not painted. Here, humps made to prevent the accidents became the reasons for the accidents. We put white fluorescent lines over the humps by which the humps are visible from long distance itself due to reflections. The local people and Panchayat authorities were very happy and took part in the activities. The work completed by 1 PM and we took the feedback from the locals and the other road users. They were grateful to us and told us that the little job we have done was a necessity for them. More such activities from youngsters are the need of the hour.

We all sat for together for the first time to discuss on SSR project in front of Tv in our hostel....We were watching a TV channel discussion on the other day where the Kerala’s vibrant Transport Commissioner Mr. Rishi Raj Singh was defending criticism from others about his stringent measures in punishing offenders of road safety. The matter was about installation of speed governors on vehicles. Commissioner pointed out that all his actions will be justified once the number of deaths due to road accidents comes down in 2013 than that of 2012. We could not believe the number of deaths from this small state of Kerala was 4286 in 2012. We have decided to do our little bit towards the mission of Commissioner; try our best to prevent road accidents. Then And there we decided to take up project to reduce Road accidents from grass root level through a SSR project.
